Fox Lake Campground is located just South of Portland Indiana off Highway 27, This relaxing campground is located in beautiful rural North Central Indiana. The peace and tranquility will take you to an earlier time. Originally Old Man Potter’s Farm, he realized that his cherished Oak and Hickory Groves next to Fox Lake, a small several acre fishing lake, would be the ideal spot for people to relax and "get away from it all". When you come back the country lane you can almost imagine Old Man Potter sitting on the banks after a long day working the fields and dropping a line in the water to catch a prize catfish. You may come for the day, weekend, week, or find that our seasonal rates are so affordable it will prove a great way for you and your family to enjoy the entire summer!

The pastures and fields are still here as is the original family homestead. There are lots of nice hiking trails, and the terrain and lack of traffic makes this countryside the perfect place for bicycling, running, hiking, and many more outdoor activities. You can enjoy a "good old fashioned" hayride or partake in Bingo every Saturday night. There are many nice open areas in the Walnut Groves along the banks of Fox Lake ideal for family reunions, church groups, clubs, organizations, and company or group picnics.

The atmosphere is laid back and you can still camp and fish using the honor system. You will likely see more squirrels than people and you can take in the fresh country air, a beautiful sunrise over the fields, and much much more.

There are many local attractions including the Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Show here every summer. Nearby you will find the Gene Stratton Porter Home, and many quaint country shops, craft shows, antique shops, antique malls, auctions, and bazaars. We are located within minutes of a large Old Order Amish community.

Our rates are low and the Schapers, who have recently purchased the campground, are adding more for the children and adults including a new basketball court, and a Rainbow Play System Playground, with more to come in the future. Please join us and see for yourself what a little R&R in the country can do for you!

Our camping season is from April 15th to October 15th.
